For parents
Turn texting talk into real vocabulary. Fun for kids of all ages, from 8 to 80.
Kids today talk in "fr", "no cap" and "bruh". Slangerator meets them where they are. They type what they'd say, and funny cartoon characters show them better ways to say it. They learn without it feeling like homework.
How it builds vocabulary
- Say it fancy. Your kid types a plain or slangy sentence and gets it back in proper English at three levels: 🎒 High school, 🎓 College or 🧐 PhD. Every new word is highlighted, with what it means and what it replaced ("famished" instead of "hungry"), plus a grammar tip.
- Word histories. Tap any word to learn where it came from: who first said it, when and why. Words stick better when they have a story.
- The decoder. Paste slang and get it explained in plain English. It works for kids learning proper English, and for parents wondering what their kids are saying.
- Characters who talk with style. A Southern grandma, a pirate, a 1940s detective, a sportscaster, a Brooklyn pizza man. Each one shows a different way to say the same thing, so kids learn that how you speak is a choice.
- Accents and languages. Hear how people talk across America and in 11 languages, from Spanish to Japanese. It's a fun first taste of other cultures, played warmly and never as a joke at anyone's expense.
- Big Sal's World. Our weekly cartoon ends every episode with "What did we learn?", a real-life lesson in Big Sal's own words. (Watch episode 1)
Safe for your kids
- PG, always. No swearing at any level, no sexual content and no put-downs of any group. When a character gets mad, they say "son of a biscuit!"
- No ads and no Google tracking. We don't sell your family's data. (Why we're Google-free)
- Family accounts. Link your teen's phone to your account, set a daily allowance, and approve anything they want to post. (How Family works)
What does it cost?
Learning is free: Say it fancy, the decoder, word histories and every character, up to 30 a day. Tokens are optional. They mostly buy the real character voices, which a voice studio charges us for. A $5 pack lasts a long time, and tokens never expire. (What's free, and what tokens pay for)
